Your pies and S’rolls are frozen on arrival – they can be put straight into the freezer and baked directly from your freezer. Alternatively, you can put them into the fridge and bake from chilled.
Pies – When you want to bake your pies, simply pre-heat your oven to 190c/ Gas Mark 5(ish), pop them on a baking tray or directly on the shelf in their foil tins and bake for 35-40 mins (from frozen) or 20-25 mins (from chilled) until the tops are baked golden brown, the filling is hot throughout and the bottom is fully baked. Give them another 5 mins if you think they need it. All ovens are different after all.
Occasionally, the pie can stick to the tin if there’s a bit of mix that has spilt over but, just be gentle and the pie should come out.
Gravy and mash can be heated in the microwave or leave the gravy in the fridge over night and heat in a pan. There may be a few little lumps in the gravy but this is because of the jelly in our stock. Its all proper!
Serve with mash, peas, chips, fries, sweet potato, roast veg, beets or maybe just another pie and gravy!
Ready… Eat!
S’rolls – Pre-heat oven to 190c, take from freezer, pop them on a baking tray with non-stick greaseproof paper and bake for 25-30 mins until the pastry is golden brown all the way around. Try to space them out so that they are not too close together. If they’re not quite baked enough for you then just bake for a little longer.
Sweet treats – The brownies come pre-baked and can simply be defrosted and eaten but we do recommend gently heating the brownies for 20 seconds in the microwave and serving with cream or ice cream. Sweet pies can simply be baked in the oven at 190c for 20-25 minutes.
Mash – This may seem like cheating and not real mash but we can assure you it is all fresh and then frozen with a hint of salt and pepper and that’s it! You can add your own butter, cheese, maybe some mustard but it’s delicious just by itself.
Gravy comes frozen in 2-portion pots and is made using all the stocks and flavouring we use to make our pie mixes. Simply take out of the freezer the day before or in the morning and heat in a pan or in the microwave until piping hot
